Biography   Gerard Batha


Gerhard Batha was born in 1937 in Vienna, Austria and studied there from 1953 to 1957 at Graphis School under Professor Wolfsberger.  He attended summer school from 1961 to 1962 in Salzberg, Austria under Oskar Kokoschka.  He has resided in South Africa since 1967.

Batha is a painter of landscapes, seascapes, portraits, figures, still life and abstraction.  In 1984 he had two solo exhibitions that were held at the Everard Read Gallery in Johnnesburg.  Batha has traveled, painted and studied in the USA, Italy, the United Kingdom and France.
