Gerhard Nesvadba was born in 1941 Ober-Ramstadr near Darmstadt, in western Germany. While growing up, his artistic talents were greatly encouraged by his father, who was also a painter.  Today, the artistic genes of the Nesvadba family have
passed to his son, Christian, who professionally paints under Gerhard's guidance.

In 1968, his artwork was exhibited for the first time in an international exhibition in Stockholm, Sweden.  This first exhibition was followed by many years of exhibitions across Europe.  While traveling, his love for landscapes and strong feelings for harmonizing colors learning other foundations of his trade became the distinct focus of his works.
