Biography   Ginny Ruffner

A glass artist focused on the workings of the brain, Ginny Ruffner has been a teacher at the Pilchuck School of Glass in Seattle.  In 2000-2001, the Seattle Art Museum had an installation exhibition of her work titled "Mind Garden," whereby she transformed the gallery into a mixed-media metaphor for the creative mind.  Part of the exhibition included dried petals from 48,000 roses, steel and glass to investigate the mind as it defines art and the artist.

By 1991, when she was 39, she was on the board of the Seattle Arts Commission and the Pilchuck School.  She also became president of the Glass Art Society.

She was a graduate of the University of Georgia in 1975 with a degree in painting and drawing.   ...  Displaying 750 of 924 characters.
