Born on July 31, 1897 in San Francisco, CA, the daughter of concert pianist Cecilia Robeson and opera tenor John McHugo. Grace Cecilia was raised in the Glen Park area and educated by tutors. Primarily a self-taught artist, for a few years she worked as a freelance illustrator of children's books. In 1924 she went to work for etcher George Ashley and continued with him for 15 years. She married artist Fred Lundy in 1928 and lived in her native city until her demise on Dec. 10, 1965.
