Gregory Hollyer (1871-1965)
He was born in London in 1871, the son of W.P. Hollyer the renowned Scottish painter of cattle and sheep and the brother of Eva Hollyer a well known figure painter.
Hollyer was a student of Eugene Verboekhoven in Brussels and Emile Van Marcke in Paris.
His paintings appeared in important exhibitions in the United States and Europe. He received gold medals for his works in exhibitions in Liverpool 1889 and in Hamburg 1905.
Hollyer left England for Canada and finally settled in the U.S. He died in 1965.
