Biography Guillaume Met de Penninghen
The painter and ceramist William Met Penninghen or Guillaume Met de Penninghen was born in the Belgian city of Gent in 1912. He was a painter of portraits, women, nudes and still lifes in the Art Deco*, Orientalist* and Post-Impressionist* styles.
After study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts* in Paris, he won gold medals for ceramics in 1961 at the International Exhibition of Ceramics in Cannes and in Prague in 1963.
In 1947, with Jacques Andon, he founded a preparatory workshop in Paris. In 1968, he founded the Graduate School of Graphic Arts Penninghen.
