Biography Guiseppe Piccirilli
A sculptor, especially noted for marble carving, Guiseppe Piccirilli was born in Italy, and in 1888, emigrated to New York City with his family and established a workshop adjacent to his home on 142nd Street in the Bronx. He had six sons, all of whom became sculptors: Attilio, Bruno, Furio, Horace, Maso and Orazio.
Assisted by his son, Guiseppe Piccirilli did marble decorations in New York City for the Customs House, Chamber of Commerce, County Court House and Stock Exchange Buildings.
