H. Douglas Pickering (1921-1991)
Doug Pickering's educational background includes Carnegie Institute of Technology (BFA, 1943) Pennsylvania State University (MS 1952), special studies with Max Beckman at the University of California and most important to him, four study grants to work in the Scandinavian countries in 1955, Greece, particularly the Cycladian Islands in 1970 and most recently a sabbatical leave to travel to Soviet Union museums. He is currently on the faculty of Carnegie Mellon University.
