Biography Hans Unger
Initially trained as a decorative painter, the native Bautzener, Hans Unger studied
from 1893 to 1895 at the Dresden Academy, where his teachers were
Friedrich Preller the Younger and Hermann Prell. A study trip through
Italy and a stay on Bornholm were style defining for him.
is characterized by sober as well as colorful lightness. Until his death in
1936, Unger maintained contact with the artist colony 'Goppeln', which
was close in proximity to his own style.
