Harold Haydon Ph.B, M.A. (1909 – 1994)

A painter, draftsman, muralist, sculptor, art critic and an important art educator and leader in the Chicago art community, Professor Harold Emerson Haydon was born in Fort William [now Thunder Bay], Ontario, Canada and died in Chicago, Illinois, which had been his primary home since 1917.

Haydon’s mediums included oil, fresco, watercolor, pen & ink, pencil, stained glass, ceramic tile, tapestry, plastic, metal, mobile*, mosaic* and mixed mediums. His subjects included portraits, self portraits, figures, nudes, genre*, allegory*, landscapes, still life, interiors, city scenes, rural scenes, atmospheric phenomenon, sporting events, social commentary and pure abstraction – color, textur   ...  Displaying 750 of 8837 characters.
