Harry George Theaker (1873-1954) was an artistic master of all trades. He was a fine artist, illustrator, pottery decorator, calligrapher, and stained glass designer as well as a respected art instructor and educator. In the first half of his life Theaker was active in the English Arts & Crafts and the Aesthetic Movements, which were led by men such as William Morris (1834-1896) and his friend and collaborator Edward Burne-Jones (1833, and it exerted a strong influence on his career and the careers of many of the other artistic figures of his generation.
