Biography Harry Gill
Harry Gill was born in New York City in 1914. Harry was raised in Oakland, California. He moved east again working for Lawrence Studios in Manhattan until WWII intervened. He survived the Battle of the Bulge and won a bronze star. After the war, he resumed his career in illustration working for several advertising agencies including Kenyon & Eckhardt and Young & Rubicon. His clients included Pepsi, Westinghouse and Nescafe among others.
Harry created paintings in both oils and pastels. His painting, “the Chicken Flickers” won first prize in exhibition. He is survived by his wife, Roslyn, and his two daughters, Lorraine and Jody.
