Biography Harry Kellogg
Professor Harry J. Kellogg, artist, was born in Canandaigua, New York, June 4,1839. His father, Daniel J. Kellogg, was native of that State, and of Scotch ancestry. He was an artist, and a member of the Royal Art Union of New York City, also a celebrated historical and portrait painter. He died at South Bend, Indiana, May 24, 1878, while on a visit to that place, at the age of sixty-six years. He had been a member of the Presbyterian church for many years.
The mother of our subject, Caroline A. (Bennett) Kellogg, was also a native of New York, and a daughter of Alonzo and Caroline (Stewart)Bennett, the latter of English ancestry, being a descendant of the Stewarts of England. She was married to Mr. Kellogg about the year 1834, and t
