Helen Langford was born March 11, 1907 in Port Huron, Michigan. Mrs. Langford''s father was a architect and shipbuilder, which no doubt heavily influenced her later artwork. Mostly self-taught, she was a graduate nurse who was principally involved in the founding of a Hospital for Mueller Brass Company employees during World War II, and was involved in expansion activities of the Port Huron Hospital in 1950''s.
A charter member of the Blue Water Art Club in 1953 (now the Blue Water Art Association), she taught art classes in at the Port Huron Museum for a number of years. While majority of her work focuses on Great Lakes Maritime subjects, she also delved heavily into portraiture, seascapes, and landscapes. Mrs. Langford passed
