He was born in Belgium in 1907. He studied at Athénée Royale in Brussels. On its arrival in Canada, he joined a printing studio in Ottawa. He studied at the Ottawa Art Association and at the Ottawa Art Club. His mediums are oil, watercolor, charcoal, and ink.
He did many group and solo exhibitions in Ottawa, Toronto, Montréal and Vancouver. He participated at the World Exhibition of New York (1939), Fine Art Museum at Rio de Janeiro (1944), Unesco (1946), Sao Paulo Biennial (1951), in New Delhi (1953) and at the Pavilion of Québec, in Osaka (1970).
