Born in San Francisco, CA on Jan. 7, 1895. Henrietta was taught to paint by her father Marius Schmidt. After her marriage to artist Frank Ziskind in 1915, they honeymooned at the PPIE and soon moved to southern California. The young couple lived in a tent until their home was built in Glendale. In 1944 job opportunities lured them back to the San Francisco Bay area. After settling in Contra Costa County, Mrs. Ziskind lived in Danville and Concord until her demise in the latter on Feb. 6, 1993. Her work includes floral still lifes and landscapes of Mt Diablo and the surrounding area. As well as painting, she also created miniature rooms. Exh: Calif.
