Born in Germany on Aug. 1, 1883. Count Von Sabern studied art in France, Italy, and Germany. After settling in San Francisco in 1914, he established a studio in a former Chinese laundry on the Hyde Street hill. There he created busts of prominent people in bronze and marble. He died of kidney failure in San Mateo, CA on April 2, 1947.
