Biography   Henry Onate

Born in Mexico. Onate was active in San Francisco for a few years following the earthquake and fire of 1906. He maintained a studio-home at 705 Vallejo Street where he painted scenes of the destruction caused by the disaster. His work also includes vaqueros and other Mexican genre. Exh: Berkeley AA, 1908; Santa Clara Co. Fair, 1912. In: St Mary's College (Moraga, CA); CHS.
