Henry Theodore Leggett 1873-1947 was the son of Theodore Leggett with his brother Francis owned a grocery called Francis H. Leggett & Co. in New York City. Henry Theodore did not get involved in the family business but pursued a career as an artist starting with classes at The Art Students League then Julien's in Paris and finally with E. Cook a pupil of Ruskin in London.
His paintings were exhibited at The National Academy of Design, N.Y.C. and Society of American Artists. He was a member of the N.Y. Stage Society, The Workshop Theatre of New York, Union League Club, N.Y.C., and Society of Arts and Sciences, N.Y.C. His residence was 39 W. 55th Street N.Y.C. He is interred at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn
