Homer Ansley

Homer Ansley was active/lived in California.  Homer Ansley is known for portrait, figure, cityscape, etcher.

Biography   Homer Ansley


Born in Medical Lake, Washington, Homer Ansley moved to San Francisco in 1916 to study at the California School of Fine Arts under Frank Van Sloun and John Stanton. He also attended the Art Students League in New York City.

In 1915, he completed murals in Berkeley's John Muir High School and during the 1920s and 30s, maintained a studio in San Francisco. He worked for the Foster & Kleiser billboard Company, and during the 1940s was assistant state supervisor for the WPA.

He is known for portrait, figure, landscape, etchings and woodblock prints.
