Biography   Howard Coluzzi

Described as "perhaps the most colorful painter in the Santa Fe colony during the Golden years", (Gibson, 72), Howard Coluzzi was originally from Paradise Lake, New York.  In New Mexico, he referred to himself as the 'artist of the people'.

Coluzzi lived on Garcia Street in a shack and was quite reclusive, mostly staying at home studying the Greek and Roman classics.  But occasionally, he emerged to do some architectural decoration or build a house.  One of his most attention getting commissions was the mural depiction of Lady Godiva for a bar in Bernalillo.
