Eaton, Hugh McD. Artist, publisher; b. Brooklyn, Jan 25, 1865, son of Asahel Knowlton and Marion McNeil Eaton; edited Polytechnic Institute, Brooklyn; student at Art Students' League, NY City; married Brooklyn. Oct. 1896, Margaret L. Fernie. Art editor American Magazine at age of 20

General illustrator for several years; art editor Frank Leslie publications 8 years, followed for a short period of general. illustrations, and then, with wife, began publication of artistic productions at Valhall studio, Brooklyn.

Interested in development of artistic printing and the Handicraft movement.
