One of our most representative Brooklyn illustrators is Mr. Hugh McDougall Eaton, whose work will be familiar to most of the American magazine-reading public. It was at the Adelphi Academy a number of years ago that Mr. Eaton commenced his studies under the professorship of J.B. Whittaker, who still occupies the same post in that institution.
Mr. Eaton, after remaining some time under the instruction of Professor Whittaker, studied a time at the Brooklyn Art Guild, and later at the Art Students’ League of New York. For the period of its existence he was art editor of the American Magazine, a well conducted but unfortunate publication.
