Biography Ignacio Maria Barreda
Painter, active during the second half of the 18th century. He painted a wide variety of subjects, both profane and religious. His production is linked to prominent families and important social groups of Mexican society. Two of his main works are the portrait of Archbishop Núñez de Haro and that of Doña Juana María Romero, where his precision and expertise in handling the details of jewelry, clothing and features are proof of the value of his work. There is documentation that indicates that he worked for the Court of the Inquisition. His works are in first class historical venues in Mexico and Spain.
