Painter. Born in San Francisco, CA on Dec. 16, 1888 into a pioneer family. ma Perham's grandfather came with the Gold Rush, struck it rich, and established a dairy in San Francisco called the Boston Ranch.
After graduating from San Mateo High School (she later taught there), ma studied at the CCAC and the ASL in NYC. In the early 1920s she moved to Monterey where she studied with Armin Hansen and shared a studio in the Robert Louis Stevenson house with C. S. Price. While in New York in 1929, she wed Fred Story and remained there as a resident of Mamaroneck after further art study in Europe and with Hans Hofmann in Berkeley (1930).
