Born in Madrid and raised by cancer-researcher parents of the University of Chicago, Inigo Manglana-Ovalle is a video-installation artist fascinated with science, weapons, outer space, and other issues of social activism.
With his parents, he traveled throughout the world during his childhood, especially to Latin American and Spain. Today he lives in Chicago with his wife and project coordinator, Barbara Holbert.
In his creations, he uses architecture as a means of exploring human identity and utilizes diverse materials such as human genetic research data, sensory deprivation tanks, and car-sound systems.
