Irvin Grey Althage (1917-2004)

Born October 7, 1917 in St. Louis Missouri he became a painter, ceramist, sculptor, print maker and art educator.  He lived and was an active artist and professor of Art at Andrews University.

Althage exhibited primarily in Michigan and Northern Indiana at Krasl Art Center, Kalamazoo Art Center, and at the Elkhart Midwest Museum of Modern Art.
He died October 6, 2004 in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

From an Obituary in Andrews University Magazine Focus Fall 2004:

Irvin G. Althage (former faculty, 1951-74) was born in St. Louis, Mo., on October 7, 1917.  He died after being struck by a car on his way home from prayer meeting at PMC on October 6, 2004.
