Marantz studied at the Art Student League. He exhibited among others at the Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Modern Arts, NY, Metropolitan Museum, NY, Whitney Museum (award winner), Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the Denver Art Museum.
He was the director of the Princetown Art Association and Museum. Later he taught at the Brooklyn Museum Art School where he has an exterior sculpture. He also has two large bronzes on Park Avenue in Manhattan and another bronze sculpture in front of the Jewish Community Center in Bayonne, N.J. Triad, a reworking of Picasso's Three Musicians is one of the two Marantz sculptures on Park Avenue in Manhattan. It stands in front of 475 Park Avenue.
