James Haughey

 (1915 - 2007)
James M. Haughey was active/lived in Montana, Kansas.  James Haughey is known for landscape painting, lawyer.

Biography   James Haughey

Born in Courtland, Kansas, in 1915, James Haughey was a painter, specializing in watercolors and landscapes, as well as a lawyer.  He studied at the University of Kansas, Lawrence with Albert Bloch, Karl Mattern, and Raymond Eastwood. Haughey worked for a year in Texas before going to law school.

He moved his legal practice to Billings, Montana in 1943, and served as States Senator from 1961 to 1971.  

Haughey preferred watercolor because it is spontaneous.

He died of cancer in Billings, Montana on September 11, 2007.
