Boleswaw Jan Czedekowski (1885-1969)
was a well-traveled Polish-Austrian painter of the 20th century, who lived among others in Vienna, Paris and New York. Czedekowski studied at first at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. His teachers were Rudolph Bacher and Kazimierz Pochwalski.
The artist focused on portraits and genre painting. Mainly he painted portraits of the Vienna nobility. During the First World War he worked as a medical orderly and as a war artist. Works of this period painted by Czedekowski are in the collection of the Military History Museum in Vienna.
