Jay Rosenblum, an abstract painter, died Friday in St. Vincent's Hospital after suffering massive injuries in an accident with a bus while he was bicycling. He was 55 years old and lived in Manhattan.
Mr. Rosenblum was a native of the Bronx and a graduate of the High School of Music and Art, Bard College and the Cranbrook Academy of Fine Arts in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. He was a violinist in the Seventh Army Symphony in West Germany in the mid-1950's and taught at the School of Visual Arts.
Surviving are his wife, the former Muriel Crane; two daughters, Julia and Maria, of Manhattan; a brother, Myron, of Queens, and two sisters, Rache
