From her home on sixteen acres of rural land in upstate New York, Jean K Stephens captures the landscape through all four seasons.
Stephens began her career as a graphic designer and illustrator. She began painting landscapes after taking a workshop on plein air painting with Thomas Buechner through the Arnot Art Museum in Elmira, New York.
Jean Stephens finds inspiration from the works of Willard Metcalf, Childe Hassam, William Merritt Chase, Dennis Miller Bunker and George Inness. It is her intention to remain as true as possible to her subject matter as possible.
