Biography   Joe Csatari


Painter Joe Csatari is an illustrator and portrait artist who trained with his mentor, Norman Rockwell, for eight years. In 1977 Csatari embarked on a career as a freelance illustrator and artist after more than 22 years as the art director of the Boy Scouts of America's advertising Department. That same year Csatari became the official artist for the Boy Scouts of America a role he took over from Rockwell.

The artist's work has appeared in publications such as the Saturday Evening Post, Boy's Life, Field and Stream, Reader's Digest and Outdoor Life. His paintings have been made into two commemorative US postage stamps. Csatari has painted the covers of over 100 books.
