Biography Joe Hing Lowe
Born in Canton, China, Joe Hing Lowe became a portraitist and was especially noted for commissions of Navy dignitaries including Admiral C.E. Rosendahl (1967), Admiral Arleigh Burke (1970), and Admiral Arnold Frederic Schade (1971).
He was also a teacher in New York City at the Metropolitan Portrait Studio (from 1964) and the Big Six Art League (from 1970).
Memberships include the Salmagundi Club and the Hudson Valley Art Association. His work is in the collection of the U.S. Navy in their Combat Artist Gallery in Washington DC and the U.S. Navy Air Station at Lakehurst, New Jersey.
