Johanna Kirsch (1856-1907) Born in Chemnitz, Died in Munich.
Little is known about Johanna Kirsch other than that she was a female German artist known as a portrait and genre painter.
She resided in Berlin for many years but late in her life moved to Munich.
Kirsch studied at the Berlin Academy from 1883 to 1892, exhibiting there numerous times in the 1890's; in 1881 and 1898 at the Munich Glass Palace, and also in Vienna and Chicago.
One of several female German artists represented, Kirsch exhibited four works in the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair.
