Born in California on June 3, 1889. Okey studied in Los Angeles at the ASL, with J. Bond Francisco (his uncle), Joseph Greenbaum, and in 1909 accompanied Stanton MacDonald-Wright to Paris for further study. After his return to Los Angeles in 1910, he opened a studio and for 53 years worked as an art director for motion picture studios. He died in Hollywood, CA on Jan. 8, 1963. His paintings are rare.
