Born in Maryland in 1829. Ebert was an itinerant artist who painted nudes for California saloons during the late 19th century. He was a resident of Stockton from 1883 until his demise at the Stockton Hotel on Feb. 17, 1900. Exh: LACMA, Calif. Centennial of Art, 1949. In: Haggin Museum (Miner's Court).
