Biography John Evers
Miniature, landscape, and theatrical scene painter, John Evers began his career as an artist around 1816. He began by exhibiting architectural drawings at the American Academy.
It seems that he was a student of John J. Holland, scene-painter at the old Park Theatre in 1818 and associated with his teacher until at least 1839. During the 1840's and 1850's he was active as a panorama painter in New York City, and he continued to at least 1864. He was a founding member and often exhibited at the National Academy.
