John Floyd Morris was a fascinating American member of the circle of Surrealists that included Dali, Ernst, Carrington, Eluard, Breton, and especially Edward James. James was the godson of the King of England, and the heir to a very considerable fortune inherited from both sides of his American family--the Dodge and James grandfathers made money in timber, banking, real estate, etc. in the States, lived in the great family home in Sussex, then built in Malibu, and finally Mexico, where he built a fantastic estate in the densest and most remote part of the jungle.
