Born in Alameda, CA on Feb. 15, 1900. Serex (pronounced Seré) majored in art and minored in forestry while at UC Berkeley. Upon graduation in 1922, he was a commercial artist for a few years before opting for a career in forestry. His lived in Berkeley until shortly before his demise in Monterey, CA on March 25, 1980. His rare landscapes of Mendocino and other northern California spots were done prior to 1930.
