John Harold, Jr. Coakley was active/lived in California, New York.  John Coakley is known for watercolor landscape, desert and marine painting.

Biography   John Harold, Jr. Coakley

Born in New York City on June 29, 1918, John Coakley settled in Los Angeles with his family in 1925.  For many years he was president of the Backings Corporation which provided television and motion picture scenery.

Primarily a watercolorist, he painted landscapes of the High Sierra and the desert near Palm Springs as well as urban scenes with boats and piers.

Coakley died in Los Angeles of heart failure on Feb. 6, 1970.
