John Lombard Bardwell was born in Springfield, MA in 1832. By 1860 Bardwell had settled in San Francisco. The owner of the Steam Bag Factory, he painted in his leisure.
His rare works include landscapes of Yosemite. He died in San Francisco on Jan. 5, 1899.
