Biography   John McNevin


An historical painter and in the 1850s, a book illustrator in the 1850s, John McNevin also contributed illustrations to Harper's Weekly in 1859 and 1860.  Among his published works for Harper's was a wood engraving dedicated to the Prince of Wales.

He lived in Brooklyn, New York, and in 1859 in New York City exhibited a series of 24 Revolutionary War scenes.
