Jonathan Kenworthy

 (born 1943)
Jonathan Kenworthy is active/lives in United States, United Kingdom.  Jonathan Kenworthy is known for sculpture-wild animal.

Biography   Jonathan Kenworthy

Born in Westmoreland, England, Jonathan Kenworthy is known for his wild animal bronzes, many inspired by his safaris in the Serengeti/Mara.

At the age of 11, he was invited to attend London's Royal College of Art by John Skeaping, the Professor of Sculpture. Skeaping later wrote: "He is, to my mind, the best sculptor of animals to emerge in this century." Kenworthy went on to attend the Royal Academy Schools and still holds the record for number of scholarships (10). His fascination of animal movement, especially the chase, led him to study anatomy at the Royal Veterinary College in London. In Africa, he pursued this interest by dissecting wild animals in Kenya.

Extensive travel and study have led him to Afghanistan, and Asia
