Biography Joseph Kitchell
Artist, writer and photographer, Joseph Gray Kitchell was born in Cincinnati, April 25 1862. He was educated in Cincinnati and New York and married Caroline Lincoln Jacobs in October of 1890; together they had one son, Joseph William. He spent most of his career living in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey but by the mid 1930s, had moved to Hollywood, California.
Kitchell introduced the first bicycle (high Wheel) in Cincinnati, imported from Scotland. He organized and was president of Cincinnati Bicycle Club and Director of the League of American Wheelmen.
