Biography Karol Kozlowski
The following is submitted by Anna Glowacki, great niece of the artist:
Karol Kozlowski was born in Dzieslawice, Poland in the very same house that my mother was also born in. He was the youngest of four children. Due to the poor economy in Poland, he left in March of 1913 to the USA in search of finding work. Karol was illiterate and had to have someone write the letters he dictated for my great-grandmother. She learned he settled in New York. He continued to keep in contact with her until the beginning of World War II in 1939. After that nothing was heard from him until 1948. Unfortunately, that was his last
My family doesn't know much more about what happened to him, except that he became a folk artist.
