Biography Katja Oxman
From a studio in Silver Springs, Maryland, Katja Oxman creates elegant still life prints of porcelain vases and rich-toned wood furniture on Oriental rugs. Some of her themes also deal with birds and flight and have subtle references to air. Her work, reflective of a tranquil, interior world, is so detailed that she produces only two to three prints annually, and from these makes editions of 150 to 200. The objects have deeply personal meanings for the artist and are structured like tableaus.
