Biography   Kazuo Matsubara


Born in Hawaii on June 1, 1895. After settling in San Francisco in 1912, Matsubara was active in the local art scene into the 1930s. He studied at the CSFA under Stanton, Van Sloun, and Randolph. His works include landscapes and portraits. Exh: Calif. Society of Etchers, 1919, 1920; Delphian Clubs, 1921; EastWest Art Society (SF), 1922; SFAA, 1923-28; Calif. Industries Expo (San Diego), 1926; Oakland Art Gallery, 1928.
