Painter. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on January 2, 1883. Mitchell studied with Kenyon Cox, Lucia Fairchild Fuller, and George Bridgman at the Art Students League of New York City.
Before moving to Los Angeles in 1909, she lived on Prince Edward Isle. She painted full-size portraits as well as miniatures. Active with the Pasadena Writers Club, her book of poems, Pilfered Moments
was published in 1952. In 1956 she wed Arthur Tennyson and lived in Alhambra, California until her death on May 10, 1965.
