Leo Yerxa (1947 – 2017) 
A prominent Canadian painter, illustrator, poet and author, Leo Yerxa died in Ottawa, Ontario where he had lived much of his life. His works are in the permanent collections of the Canadian Museum of History (Gatineau, Quebec), Carleton University Art Gallery (Ottawa, Ontario), Galerie Montcalm (Gatineau, Quebec), Mendel Art Gallery (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) and the Thunder Bay Art Gallery (Thunder Bay, Ontario). He was a winner of the Governor General’s Literary Award.
