The following biographical information has been provided by Jean-Pierre Haudeville, one of the the artist's grandsons.
Leon Haudeville was a pupil at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Nancy
(1903 - 1910), and then at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris in Henri
Royer's studio. He became a teacher at the Ecole des Beaux Arts
de Nancy, then after the 1st World War, he settled in Vendée and was
appointed in 1919 as drawing teacher at La Roche-sur-Yon high school.
In 1930, he moved to Paris suburb (Bourg-la-Reine) and continued
teaching drawing at Sceaux high school until his retirement in
1948. During his retirement, he worked as a consultant for a
maker of paints (Lefranc Bourgeois) in the
